DESCRIPTION

• The MQ-7 Sensor is designed to detect carbon monoxide (CO) accurately in diverse environmental conditions.
• Operates using a tin dioxide (SnO₂) sensitive layer with low conductivity in clean air and increased conductivity when exposed to CO.
• Provides an analog output proportional to CO concentration, ideal for microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi.
• While optimized for CO, it can also exhibit limited sensitivity to gases like hydrogen.
• Features a dual-heating cycle technique (1.5V low heat / 5V high heat) to distinguish CO from other interfering gases.
• Reliable operation across a temperature range of –20°C to +50°C.
• Supports high humidity conditions up to 95% RH (non-condensing).
• Usually mounted on a PCB module with load resistor and comparator circuitry for easier interfacing.
• Durable MOS metal-can design, providing long life and stability in indoor and industrial environments.
