DESCRIPTION:

• The JSN-SR04T waterproof ultrasonic sensor is enclosed in a sealed plastic/resin housing that protects the electronics from water ingress, enabling usage outdoors, in high-humidity conditions, or near liquid surfaces.
• Like the standard HC-SR04, it consists of an ultrasonic transmitter and receiver. The transmitter sends ultrasonic bursts, and the receiver detects the returning echoes.
• An onboard control IC manages timing, pulse generation, echo processing, and distance calculation.
• Some variants include a long 2.5-meter waterproof cable that maintains water resistance while allowing flexible sensor placement.
• When triggered by a microcontroller, the module emits an ultrasonic pulse and listens for the echo.
• Distance is calculated by measuring the time between sending the pulse and receiving the echo.
• The calculation uses the speed of sound in air (~343 m/s at 25 °C).
